In 1989 the British piano virtuoso Ian Fountain became the youngest laureate of the famed Arthur Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv. The victory launched his meteoric international career. He has worked with such artists as the Israel Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta, the London Symphony Orchestra with Colin Davis, and the Czech Philharmonic with Jiří Bělohlávek. He appears as a soloist regularly in New York, Chicago, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, and Jerusalem. He teaches at London’s Royal Academy of Music, and each year he gives masterclasses in Europe and China and sits on the juries of many international competitions.
